Winners of the 2022 Kansas Country Living reader contest received one Konza gift box from the From The Land of Kansas program.

We brought back — by popular demand — the year-end reader contest that includes a quiz about the previous 12 months’ editorial content. It’s a fun and educational way to recall the important electric safety tips, energy-saving ideas, tasty recipes and entertaining features about rural Kansans published throughout the year. The contest also allows us to thank our Kansas Country Living readers for their readership and engagement.

The December 2022 contest garnered a nearly 25% increase in participants with most accessing the contest entry form on the magazine’s companion website, www.kclonline.com. We also received entries through email and through U.S. Postal Service mail, which confirms the diverse ways in which our readers prefer to communicate with us.

Of the nearly 150 entries, 46 correctly answered all 11 questions, with the 12th question a freebie about the reader’s favorite recipes that month. Of those correct entries, 10 were chosen by a randomizer to receive a From the Land of Kansas gift box. The winners and their respective co-op are:

    • Debbie Wall, Caney Valley
    • Victoria Foster, Prairie Land
    • Kailey Karr, 4 Rivers
    • Preston Winter, Wheatland
    • Kelly Worthy, FreeState
    • Angela Harding, Butler
    • David Newcomer, DSO
    • Dawn Meyer, Rolling Hills
    • Kim Hampton, Pioneer
    • Rodney Hogg, Wheatland

In case you are wondering the results of question No. 12 in the quiz, here is how readers ranked December’s recipes:

    1. No Bake Chocolate
    2. Peanut Butter Cheesecake
    3. Peppered Rib Roast with
    4. Roasted Garlic Sauce
    5. Thick and Creamy Gouda Macaroni and Cheese
    6. Cranberry Raspberry Vanilla Punch
    7. Swangy Cider Punch

Eat dessert first, I often say.
