Hot Spiced Cider
Tart apple cider and warming spices are the perfect toast to fall. This recipe adds some lemon or orange to brighten the flavor. Serve in festive mugs or glasses.
- 2 to 3 cups apple cider
- 3- inch piece of lemon or orange peel
- 1 Tbsp. lemon or orange juice
- Dash of nutmeg
- 4 whole cloves
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- In a saucepan, combine all the ingredients and heat on medium-low. Bring to a boil and simmer for 1 minute.
- Strain the cider through a sieve and serve in a festive mug with cinnamon sticks and topped with apple slices or slices of lemon or orange studded with cloves.
This drink can also be served iced.
