The last few months have been uncertain and difficult for so many people affected in some way by the coronavirus. Lane-Scott Electric wanted to help our members more than just prohibiting disconnects for non-payment and working with members to set-up payment plans. We were happy to be able to donate Boot Hill hand-sanitizer to many in our communities. Sunflower Electric, our wholesale provider, then donated additional bottles of hand-sanitizer to all of their cooperatives in Western, KS! Through their generosity, your Cooperative has been able to donate even more of this critical product to several high-traffic businesses in our service area.
During this difficult time, we also held our annual food drive to help stock our local food pantries! The pantries unfortunately were being frequented more often than normal. While it was a challenging time for a food drive, both the Lane & Ness county pantries received quite a bit of donated food from our generous communities! Additionally, Lane-Scott was able to contribute a small financial donation to each food pantry. We would like to thank everyone who helped us contribute! General Manager, Richard McLeon said, “The pandemic is affecting everyone in this community that we call home. Everyone can do something, and we are blessed to make this small donation in the bigger picture of some people’s struggles. We simply wanted to help folks out in some way; it’s just what we do.”
