Lillian Payne, a sophomore from Ransom, and Mark Tucker, a sophomore from Dighton, were selected to attend the 2022 Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp. Lane-Scott is excited to be able to sponsor youth from our service territory this year, as the past two years were canceled due to COVID-19.

Payne and Tucker will attend the camp in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, for a weeklong adventure in July. This camp does not disappoint! The all-expense paid trip begins with an overnight stay in Denver before traveling to a rustic Colorado mountain camp with high school students from Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma and Wyoming. While at camp, students will learn about the cooperative business model, develop their leadership skills, and listen to nationally recognized speakers. Together, students will create a “candy” cooperative, run the camp activities, and build meaningful connections as well as raft on the Colorado River, watch a live raptor presentation, play volleyball and explore downtown Steamboat Springs.
