Let Us Help Promote Your Local Events

Kansas electric cooperatives power and empower communities. Their mission is truly twofold: safely provide reliable, affordable electricity to their consumer-members and improve the quality of life of those they serve by actively participating in community initiatives. Kansas Country Living plays an important role in helping co-ops fulfill their mission.

Each month we feature local community events within our Around Kansas pages, free of charge, and publish articles throughout the year spotlighting local businesses.

Regardless of the economy — strong or weak — we understand local community events have little to no advertising budgets. Factor in the last two years of pandemic cancellations and closures, and many of the events that serve as yearly fundraisers to boost non-profit bottom lines have been devastated to say the least.

Now that in-person events are slowly making a comeback , it’s more important than ever to support these local community celebrations. And we want to help.

Like listening to music? Attend the open air concert in Smith Center on Aug. 13 or Great Bend Alive on Aug. 26.

Does the summer heat have you wishing for the winter holiday season? Check out the Campground Christmas on Aug. 13 in Webber. It will still be hot outside, but you can decorate your campsite to resemble a cold December day.

Consider a road trip to Damar in Rooks County for the Acadia West-Fest, a three-day French heritage festival Sept. 2-5. S’amuser bien!

Visit the magazine’s companion website, kclonline.com, to enter your community event under the Around Kansas tab. Once reviewed, the events are published on the website and within the Around Kansas pages of the magazine. By posting your event online, you can also include your event’s promotional flyer or photos, as did Butler’s Muffler & Auto Repair in Leavenworth that is hosting the Havoc Car & Bike Show on Aug. 27, benefitting the Leavenworth Havoc Softball Association.

If you are able, venture out and discover the delightful places and happenings promoted within the magazine and at kclonline.com.
