Jobi Roemer, Healy; Carlee Flax, Ransom; Kayler Getz, Quinter; Anabeth Ratzlaff, Ingalls were selected by Lane-Scott Electric to represent their cooperative for this year’s all-expense paid Youth Tour trips!

Roemer and Flax will join 1,800 students from across the U.S. to travel to Washington DC in June for an eight-day adventure touring the many monuments, museums, and experiencing once-in- a-lifetime activities at our National Capital. They will gain a personal understanding of our government in action, our country’s history, and their role as a U.S. citizen. They will meet with Kansas Congressmen and Senators, and will join other states for Youth Day, where they will hear featured speakers who provide insight to the important roles electric cooperatives play in their communities.

Getz and Ratzlaff were selected to attend the Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp in Steamboat Springs, CO. Their week-long adventure in July begins with an overnight stay in Denver before traveling to a rustic Colorado mountain camp with 100 other high school youth from four states. While at camp, they will experience rafting, see live raptors up close, tour Trapper Coal Mine and Craig Generation Plant, learn about the cooperative business model, create a cooperative while building their leadership skills.
