The Youth Tour Trip to Washington D.C. offers insight to our country’s rich history thru the many sites the students visit as well as learning about the political process with our Kansas Senators and Representatives in Washington. They will make new friends from across the state of Kansas plus four students from Hawaii who join them in Topeka.
The Cooperative Leadership Camp to Steamboat Springs, CO builds leadership skills as well as teaching the seven cooperative principles, with the students having the opportunity to create a co-op complete with a Board of Directors. They learn about electricity from generation to delivery by touring the Trapper Coal Mine & Craig Generation plant to building transmission line and seeing a high voltage demonstration. The winner of this trip has the opportunity to be selected by fellow campers as an ambassador and return to assist with next year’s camp.
