The 8-Man All-Star Football Team was invited to a safety demonstration hosted by RHEC while in Beloit the beginning of June. These kids come from across the state of Kansas. While at the demonstration, students learn what happens when you contact a live power line. Many of these students are or preparing to drive solo. It’s important to know if you get in a vehicle accident with a power line, don’t get out, unless there is another immediate emergency like the car is on fire. Once you contact a line, call 911 while inside your vehicle. Alert the operator that you have contacted a live power line and wait until the electric utility arrives and disconnects the power to get out of the vehicle.
