The Raymer Society invites you to the 25th anniversary of the Artist-in-Residence program on Sunday, May 21, 2:00-5:00pm. On the lawn of the Red Barn Studio Museum, there will be a picnic and an auction featuring 25 plywood cutouts of Lester Raymer-inspired suns created by 25 talented regional artists. Each artist created their own unique approach to interpreting a Raymer Sun. Some chose to use fabric scraps, while others used cardboard or incorporated other mediums. The suns will be sold at auction, with proceeds going toward renovating the artist-in-residence apartment, where visiting artists stay during their residencies.
This celebration will mark 25 years of hosting artists from all over the world, working in all mediums. This program helps The Raymer Society fulfil the mission of providing public opportunities for artistic and cultural enrichment. It’s an opportunity for the public to see new works by regional, national, and international artists, as well as the inspiring work of Lester Raymer.
Meet at the Red Barn Studio Museum for an afternoon of music, food, and drinks. Cost is $40 for members and $50 for non-members. To register for the event and find out more please visit the Red Barn’s website or contact them at (85-227-2217.
