Christmas in the Hollow is a distinctive outdoor walk-through Christmas lighting display at the Hollow Park in Sedan, Kansas. Preparations for the opening night occurs during the month of November, when the Hollow Park is transformed by local individuals and businesses into a winter wonderland of lights and activities.

We are sure that our second year of the Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas in the Hollow event will be even better than last year’s. Allen Coate, this year’s Grand Marshall, will officially kick off Christmas in the Hollow 2022 with a lighting ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 24. Exciting activities are being planned for every Saturday evening, from Nov. 26 until Christmas Eve. The Hollow will be open to the public to view from 5-8 p.m. through Dec. 31.

Christmas in the Hollow is designed to provide a delightful outdoor event for families to enjoy during the Christmas season. Admission to the event is free, although donations are gladly accepted. Hot cocoa and cider will be provided for all guests, free of charge. Other refreshments may be purchased from vendors. T-shirts, calendars, and a collectable Christmas ornament will be available for sale.

Activities for this year’s Christmas in the Hollow include the following events:

    • The Hollow Express – an open-air trailer pulled by a pickup, which transports visitors from the parking lot at the school to the Hollow. Kids riding on the Hollow Express will receive a free Christmas bell! Free rides will be provided: 11/24, 11/26, 12/3, 12/10, 12/17
