The Red Barn Studio Museum is excited to welcome back poet Jason Ryberg of Kansas City, Missouri, as its artist in residence for the month of February.
Ryberg is the author of eighteen poetry books, six screenplays, a few short stories, a box full of folders, notebooks, and scraps of paper that could one day be (loosely) construed as a novel, and a couple of angry letters to various magazine and newspaper editors. His latest collection of poems is The Great American Pyramid Scheme (co-authored with W.E. Leathem, Tim Tarkelly, and Mack Thorn, OAC Books, 2022).
During his month-long stay from February 1st through February 26th, Ryberg will be composing a poem per day inspired by Lester Raymer’s art from the Red Barn Studio Museum’s collection. His work will culminate in a performance at the end of his residency on Sunday, Feb. 26, at 2 p.m.
The Raymer Society’s Artist-in-Residence program is sponsored in part by the Kansas Creative Arts Industry Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts. For more information, contact the Red Barn Studio Museum at 785-227-2217 or email.
