Award-winning journalist, author, professor, and lawyer Deirdre Mask is coming to Bethany College. Described as “a writer, lawyer, and sometimes academic,” Mask will discuss her book The Address Book: What Street Addresses Reveal About Identity, Race, Wealth and Power. The event will take place in the Burnett Center.
“The Address Book is a provocative project that asks questions that impact us all–most importantly, what is the significance of an address? I was moved by this simple question that, before this book, I had never thought about. Dierdre Mask inspired me to look at my place in the space around me in a more curious way. This book transformed me in ways that I hope it does for others,” says Rachel Finnell, Assistant Professor of Political Science.
